• Oct 21 -  ZONE RUMOR CONTROL - There is no truth to the rumor that the extended day will or the 20% will be eliminated. The ZONE has been collectively bargained and would have to be un-bargained for any of these things to occur. UTD has no intention of un-bargaining these provisions in the ZONE initiative.

• Oct 21 - ZONE RUMOR CONTROL - The ZONE is not being dissolved or dismantled – not now, not in December and not for the 36 months that it has been negotiated. Therefore, the ZONE initiative will last through May/June of 2008.

• June 29, 2005 - Zone Employees Get Extra Sick Day Thanks to UTD! - UTD was able to negotiate an extra sick day for Zone School employees.  Due to the extended school year, 10-Month Employees in the School Improvement Zone will earn 11 Sick days during the 2005-06 School Year instead of the normal 10 days.
