Sr. High’s Joseph Underwood
is inducted into Hall of Fame
Miami Senior
High Teacher and UTD member Dr. Joseph W. Underwood will take his
place among the nations top teachers at an induction ceremony in
Kansas this coming June, when he is inducted into the National
Teachers Hall of Fame. Underwood is a 21-year veteran of the
classroom and currently teaches television and moviemaking at Miami
Senior High. He is among 5 other teachers who will share the honor
this year. The National Teachers Hall of Fame was founded in
Emporia, Kansas in 1989 to recognize teachers nationwide. Since its
creation, the NTHF has inducted 80 educators from 33 states, with
Florida being the state with the most inductees.
