UTD President addresses NALEO Conference

UTD President Karen Aronowtiz addressed members and participants of the 24^th Annual Conference of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) in Orlando, Florida.   

Representing the American Federation of Teachers and the United Teachers of Dade, Aronowitz spoke at a reception honoring the Florida Hispanic Legislative Caucus before introducing Florida House Representative Rene Garcia.   

The organizers were pleased to announce the conference was being held in the Sunshine State, where the Latino community is becoming a key force in the political arena.  The conference is the largest gathering of Latino elected and appointed officials in the nation and is held annually.  

The more than 800 participants include elected and appointed officials, corporate representatives, members of academia and philanthropy, community leaders, and students.
