Delegates Represent UTD at the Florida Education Association Delegate Assembly in Orlando, Florida -- October 18-20, 2012
The Florida Education Association (FEA) Delegate Assembly (DA) is the annual meeting in which the FEA's highest decision-making body will unite to plan, discuss, and debate education issues and the organization's future course. Important decisions are made that impact education and association policy.
The event opens with a day of business meetings and professional development. Members participate in governance and caucus meetings, explore exhibits, and network with their colleagues from across the state.
FEA delegates represent local affiliate unions including student members, retired members, and other segments of the FEA membership. Delegates are selected to represent the concerns and issues brought forth by their local union membership at the Delegate Assembly (DA). The delegates determine FEA's strategic plan and budget, legislative program, new business items and resolutions. Delegates also vote, by secret ballot, on proposed amendments to the FEA Constitution and Bylaws, elect FEA executive officers, and at-large members of the NEA Board of Directors.
