Important Update Regarding our Negotiations
As you know, during negotiations, UTD asked to split the negotiations and resolve healthcare bargaining so that all employees could have an open enrollment. Unfortunately, the District took a short sighted approach to bargaining that ultimately led our bargaining team to vote to declare impasse.
Last week, I sent a letter to the Superintendent and the School Board Chair because of the problems that some of our members face with their current healthcare enrollment status. I urged them to split negotiations so that we could resolve healthcare. To date, they have not agreed to do so.
Please be assured that UTD is doing everything possible to work for a positive resolution on your behalf.
I urge you to call school board members at 305-995-1334 and ask that they resolve healthcare negotiations so we can hold an open enrollment for healthcare and benefits.
