Official Contract Re-Ratification Results
UTD Bargaining Unit Members Re-Ratify the UTD/M-DCPS:

-- August 2011 Contract Language (IPEGS/RTTT)
-- February 2012 Contract Language (Healthcare/RTTT)
Teachers and other school employees represented by United Teachers of Dade (UTD) have ratified previously agreed to contracts. For the June 2011 contract, the vote was 13,347 (70%) YES to 5,700 (30%) NO. For the August 2011 contract, the vote was 12,931 (68%) YES to 6,177 (32%) NO. For the February 2012 contract, the vote was 13,033 (68%) YES to 6,096 NO (32%). Results are official and have been certified by the UTD Internal Functions Committee (IFC).
Today, UTD President Karen Aronowitz brought forward a new way to pay teachers, including a previously negotiated beginning teacher’s salary of $40,000. She will present her proposal when UTD and MDCPS meet. Her plan also addresses funding her proposal through collection of property taxes owed by those violating the homestead exemption statute.
UTD will return to bargaining on May 30th for the 2012 - 2015 contract.
