Tentative Agreement Reached for Extended Day
Today, August 22, 2012, United Teachers of Dade reached a tentative agreement with the district regarding the 10 schools that are required by law to extend their day. The agreement pays teachers a stipend of $4600 (one-half to be paid in October, and the other half to be paid on the last day of the 2012-13 school year). Required support personnel for the extended day will also receive compensation. Specific details of the agreement will be forthcoming.
Employees who cannot participate in the extended day program should immediately request a transfer. Please submit your transfer form to your principal and to United Teachers of Dade, attention Dr. Randy Biro – Fax# 305-576-7761.
